My Swastika explores the controversial subject of the Swastika. Examining the Faiths, Cultures and Academics who have struggled to justify their use of the Swastika in a politically sensitive post war Western Civilization, where the image is one of the most taboo symbols to date. Filmmaker Dominick O'Cruadhliocht travels Europe to meets with such people as the President of The Warsaw Hindu temple, curators of The Aviation Museum of Central Finland, a Jewish Rabbi and Falun Gong asking, can the Swastika be reclaimed, while also encountering the obstacles in producing the first in depth documentary on the subject of what many call beyond salvation, but what many others call "My Swastika". The ancient Swastika has been tarnished and excommunicated from Western Society due to its association with far right extremists and hate groups. In the East the symbol is quite common and has come to represent symbolically a number of religions. However, due to its infamous association with the Nazis, religious groups ranging from Buddhists to Kabbalah Jews, are restricted in the use of a symbol which is believed by some to be unjust and an infringement of religious freedom and human rights. Many group who believes in defending the use of the Swastika and propagating its real meaning are coming out to defend their relative cultural, national or personal use. Groups such as the Hindu communities in Germany and Poland, where their Holy Swastika is strictly banned, and Falun Gong who defended and legally won the right to display it on their German web page. Canadian Swastika activist and artist, Manwoman who sacrificed an art career by covering his body with the Swastikas of different cultures and leading a 40 year campaign to re-educate the publics concepts. The Finnish, who proudly boast of its use, pre-Nazi, and its roots at the very heart of the countries Independence. These groups are ones of many who now defend their use of the symbol while providing a more educated awareness of the Swastika's origins, history and true meaning, to an educated, informed and self reflective Western society.
